I tried both the sub ax and sub silo at GC yesterday. I cannot believe the quality for the price. No, let me correct that....I cannot believe the quality at double the price! The AX top was drop dead gorgeous. The silo had that classic quack in the 2 and 4 positions. I can't see how this series won't be a winner.

Amen to that! Your point about the "quack" in the 2 and 4 positions is dead on. Try finding well-made guitars at under $200 that can sound like a bluesy Strat AND then cop a Zeppelin riff with a bridge humbucker with a flip of the switch!

The Guitar Center rep raved about the SUB Series 5-string bass the other day, so I told him I was a fan of the Silo3. I think there's a little bit of confusion between the Silo 30 and the Silo3, however, and it's tough for a company with a good reputation like Music Man for $1,000 guitars to enter the market under a whole different name and get immediate attention. Fortunately, my Guitar Center had it literally in the middle of the floor, so I was able to read the sign and figure out, "Oh, this like their 'Squier' or 'Epiphone'". And of course I played it and it felt great.
