Nope - no SR5 neck or mute bridge - this is just a photoshop by RK. Real pics to follow as soon as I get it all back together. I am doing a matching headstock and SR5 decal though....

Yes, but it's not an SR5... I would leave the sticker off of it. That makes it a boutique bass :)

+1 that is going to become a completely unique killer bass, ether way it's going to be great, look forward to seeing it when it's done.

A SUB is. SUB, and an SR is an SR..simple as that..

The sub 5's I have owned have outplayed the sr5's I had, so you know this one must really be a player to spend the dough on a refinish. Maybe the same guys that make the sr5 decals can make a sub 5 decal.

Its your bass do what you want with it.

I want to see how it turns out.

Exactly - I didn't intend to piss anybody off - I know it's not a SR5, but with the new Classic Stingray 5s out now, all I'm really doing is making a SUB into a custom Stingray 5 with countours, passive, color of my choice, etc. I never cared for the original larger-bodied Stingray 5 or the large pickguard. When the SUB came out, I thought it was great (except for the finish) - thought it was how the Stingray 5 should have been designed in the first place - a 5 string version of the 4. The Classic Stingray 5 is great except I really like a contoured body - and I can't afford one anyway. This project is no different then any other "mod your bass" situation. If I ever sell it, it will be listed as a Custom SUB5 - simple as that. I'm even going to put the original serial number sticker on the back of the headstock.

I should get the body back from Marty next week - then I re-assemble and take it out for a spin.

I just got my 34CA body back from Marty and I'm pretty stoked on it. :D

PS As long as you never tried to sell the bass as a SR5 then it does not matter what you do to your own property.

Cheers
