thanks guys.
as a life long ibanez player, i had my MM cherry popped about a month ago when a friend from another band called me up to play a few songs.

it was near the end of their second set, i had been drinkin' a little bit and was not prepared to play.
i went up cold, strapped on his Luke, and slammed it!
after we stepped down for their break, i told my buddy that no guitar should be that easy to play and that im done with ibanez.

so last weekend i found myself at a GC in milwaukee playing a bunch of stuff (all high end). EVH, charvel, jackson, ibanez, PRS....
even picked up a luke, but when i grabbed that JPXI, it was over! i have never played anything that felt like that.
it was soooooo different, yet fit like a glove. but before i bite the bullet on the XI (which i'm totally willing to do), i need to play the 12 just to be sure. :)

if i can't make up my mind? i may consider TNT's comment, "Hey, just get both!! lol" ;P

Welcome to the forum!

The JPXI and JP12 have the same dimensions and electronics so the only difference will be from the tone of the body woods. Let your ears make the choice! or, of course, get both.

The JPXI is alder with a maple cap and mahogany tone block
The JP12 is basswood with a maple cap and mahogany tone block

-- both models have finished mahogany necks with ebony fretboard & stainless steel frets (20" radius)

Yep, the only difference is the body wood(Alder vs Basswood) and the finish - aswell as the JP12 shield inlay vs the JPXI shield inlay :) Post pictures whenever you've decided and got the one you wanted :D
