Sweet! It's missing the trem, but I'll be damned if that doesn't look like a great deal (though I'm sure the price will go up). I might be selling one of my other axes this weekend so I'll keep that in mind depending on how things turn out. Thanks for the heads up!

Well, I wont be using this for much of my jazz playing. I need something to cover my strat-needs live and in the studio. Normally I do prefer ebony or rosewood boards, but I love the look of maple and as long as I'm going for the strat vibe that's what I'm gonna go with. I've always preferred maple boarded fenders anyway. I'll be getting a jazz box at some point too......but for the time being I've got my eyes on a Carvin H2 that'll keep me well covered (I hope the EB Police don't come after for saying that on these boards!).
I know there's no such thing as a guitar that'll cover ALL my needs but the silhouette seems like it'll cover a good chunk of it. And besides, even if there was ONE guitar that could do it all.........why stop at one?

Understood. Totally a matter of personal preference.
Just for what it's worth, I took my maple board to jam with friends. When we were wrapping up for the night, the other guitar player (who plays a PRS) commented, that's a nice guitar, but your other one (the rosewood board silo) has more of an SRV sounding vibe to it. I had to agree. Either one could do Stratish tones, but between them my rosewood is far more versatile, and also richer sounding. I dig them both, but if I had to choose, unless it was purely a country gig, I'd go with my rosewood. But that's just me.
Anyway, hope you find the perfect Ball (or Balls) for you. Keep us posted, k?

my old blue maple silo special sounded much brighter than my current rosewood silo special, it has SRV tone to the max, and just sings. i'm keen to get a maple SSS silo special now to see the difference.
