Hello all at the forum,

I have a Music Man Stingray bass I got back in the 90's but I can't remember the year and which store I purchased it from. I live in LA now and purchased it somewhere in South Florida when I was 13 years old (with a little help form my parents of course).

It is a black 4 string with bass and treble, maple neck. Serial # is 34104 found on the bridge. I understand a lot of info I am asking about can be deciphered from the serial number. I don't really want to take the neck off to find the exact build date so can anyone here help me, or guide me to where I can find info?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ronny. Welcome to the forum. Post your SN to the "Music Man Serial Number Database" thread in the "sticky" section above to find out the build/delivery date.

Thank you very much Robert

BTW I posted the serial number wrong. The correct # is 32104.

I will try the database...thanks again!

Looks like a very late 1990 model to me, but after the weekend, the good folks at EBMM should be able to give you an exact date based on your serial.

Welcome to the forum!

Please pass over whatever you've bee inhaling.... I'd so love to forget what year I was 13 as well! :D

Yeah that seems kinda screwy ...not inhaling anything good..believe me but if ya got anything good let me know, lol.

Anyhow to clear things up..of course I can figure out what year it was when I was 13. I just don't know if the bass is any older as perhaps the bass was a leftover from another year... not every instrument sold is from the same year it was actually made..you understand, right?. In other words I can deduce the year in which it was purchased, I simply can not remember what year the bass itself is. Obviously sometime in the early 90's.

I am just curious of the exact build date and which store my parents got it from..I don't believe it was Guitar Center if memory serves me..(which apparently it don't) lol

But thanks for noticing.

And yes it was a pretty sweet gift..I don't think my first car cost as much as that bass.
