As some of you may know, I had been without a Stingray 5 for a few months and just picked on up last week because it felt odd to not have one. It looks like this:

So my house, having just moved, was a disaster and I had no place to play loud. I plugged the bass in for a couple of minutes when I first got it just to make sure it was okay....it was, but sounded mighty zingy with rounds through my little Ampeg B-50R practice amp. I thought 'Hmm, gotta change these strings before this is going to be right'.
But my studio is finally finished and I can get out there and crank it up! Yes! And I plugged the bass into the Sunn 1200s and the two Ampeg cabs and SWEET JESUS what a cool tone, even with the rounds!
Yes, yes, I love the Bongos and I love the Reverends and etc etc etc, but there really is something special about a kick-asss Stingray 5. And this is one.
I just wanted to tell you guys that.
