at last by peat: Stream and Download this Pop & Rock MP3 track for free

all the guitars are my jp6 through the mark IV
i used alot of different settings and sounds
tell me what you think

ill say right now
the solo at the end
i dont know what happened
i ran my mark IV through a 1960A marshall 4x12
and miked it with a 57 and a 421 and ran it into through the focusrite pre's in the control 24 then into a digidesign 96 I/O into a HD2 rig

and it sounded like a fizzy bastard
no matter what i did
i think it may have had to do with the marshall having a 16 Ohm input
and the mark IV only has 8 and 4 outputs
oh well
im gonna redo that last solo soon
but the rest is good
tell me what you think

thanks in advance

Hey Peat,
I've listened to the song a couple times now. And it's GREAT :D ! Thanks for allowing a free download so now I can listen to it over and over again. You've gotten some amazing tones out of your jp! The piezo bit at the beginning is just awesome. And for the rest I'll just say that you work wonders with the neck pickup. I love the weird-effected part after the vocals cut out!
And since you've done such an amazing job, I know have an amazing numbers of questions to ask you.
What are you running the piezo through? Still the Mark IV? What effects are using (specifically what wah pedal)? How many different guitar tracks are you using?
I love how many tones you can grab outta the jp, which is why I bought it in the first place. But I'm not as good as you because you can get so many good tones from the pet.
Thanks a lot for sharing and I'm sorry I really don't have any constructive criticism. I didn't even mind the fizziness towards the end and wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't talked about it. I didn't even hear it as a bad thing, the sound was still pretty clear.
Thanks again for putting this song together. JP's rock!!

hey green wizard
thank you very much for your kind words

the piezo was run into my effects pedal (boss ME-30) which gave it stereo reverb and delay, from there straight into recording, no mark IV for the piezo

the wah in the part after the vocals cut out is also from the ME-30 straight into recording, no mark IV there either

those two parts are the only non mark IV parts in the song

as for guitar tracks
pretty much most of the time there are two rhythm tracks (panned L and R)
and for leads they are panned centre (except just after the second solo where the rhythm is centre and leads L and R)

all the effects come from my ME-30, only using delay and reverb
except for the last solo
that has delay and reverb from protools and also some eq
otherwise everything else is flat, no eq after recording.

thanks alot for listening

I love all the tones you came up with! The song has so much to offer! The last solo is REALLY tasteful! Nice use of effects on all tracks too. Pretty good sounding drum machine as well. I'd like to hear more! What key is that song in?
