My GrapeRay 5 sounds KILLER w/new tubes in Mesa 400+. I've had some funny noises going on with my amp for the last couple of weeks so I ordered a new set of tubes from this guy:

Fixed ALL the problematic pops and ringing notes (even after I turned the knobs on my bass off) that were happening. Man what a difference it makes! Mids are cleared up considerably and I now have a whole new level of growl - no mud whatsoever.

I highly recommend the JJ tubes he is selling. Plus his service is wonderful - I ordered them on Friday and they came Monday by Priority mail.

6l6's right? Cost you a small fortune replacing all 12 tubes at 20 something bucks a shot... but I guess it's worth it, sometimes.

Package deal for $225 shipped included 12 6L6's and 4 AX7's. Not cheap but I've never found an amp I like better.

To SpectorBassGuy:

That package deal you got, did you go through mesa boogie's website for that? 225 is a descent deal for the 12 tubes and the 4 preamp tubes.
