Hi there, I'm new on the forum as user but long time reader.. I have finally bought a SUB Silo 3 few weeks ago and I have few questions about it. Have any of you guys changed the pickguard plate as yet? Would the Silhouette or the Silhouette Special plate fin on the SUB Silo 3? have any of you tried to put pickups covers on it? I have a red version of the SUB Silo 3 and I would like to replace the white ones with chromed ones... Would be lovely to have all closed cover but I know that it can be a bit of a problem with the single coils. The configuration on the SUB Silo 3 is HSS.

I have found these but I'm not sure about the sizes:
SINGLECOIL PICKUP COVERS CHROME | Guitar Parts Worldwide

HUMBUCKER PICKUP COVER CLOSED CHROME | Guitar Parts Worldwide

HUMBUCKER PICKUP COVER OPEN CHROME | Guitar Parts Worldwide

Thanks a lot for you time.

Good day and welcome.

It is my understanding that the EBMM pickguards are NOT a direct fit for the S.U.B. guitars.

Secondly, if you put the cover over the humbucker pickup, you'd need to trim out the opening in the current pickguard. It's not much, but they don't quite fit. The single coil covers should be no problem.

Hi Canuck6string,
thanks a lot for your answers and time :),
I have actually come to a complete different solution to it.... I'm going to replace the pickups with some better one.
I'm not a pro player but I prefer the sound of Humbucker over the coil and I found these:
Single coil:
Shadow SH661 4-Conductor - Thomann Nederland
Humbucker:
EMG H4A HZ Series BK - Thomann Nederland

of course they are not the top end but asking around they should be an reasonable upgrade in sound without killing my wallet.

Talking about the SUB silo 3 I have to say that this is nothing like the Squire or satellite company like it.
This is a solid and nice guitar and for the price range it placed itself over the most in build quality and style.
Well finished and light weight, much lighter than the Squire Strat I had before and the hardware inside is nicely placed...not like a spaghetti dish.
It is a 22 fret and the tuner mech are nice and solid.

You're welcome.

Before you buy the new pickups, check out the dimensions and compare them with your current ones. You'll still have to enlarge the humbucker opening on your pickguard (because of the 'cover') and may also need to widen the single coil openings.

Second, ensure the pickup cavity on the body will accommodate the extra depth of the rail pickups. The EBMM ones are deep enough, but I'm not familiar with the S.U.B. bodies.

Just speaking from my own search for tone experiences/research. Hope it makes yours enjoyable.
