I drove up and just picked up this 1989 black 2EQ fretless stingray from a guy in nashville last friday. He was sad to part with it
but I wasn't
. I'm pretty much a fretless convert now...I love this bass!!!
The previous owner had the fingerboard epoxied which seems to decrease the wear on the fingerboard but also brings out the beauty of the wood with a glassy look. This bass plays great and sounds even better. I've already gigged it in a church gig last sunday and i got more compliments on my playing and the bass than i ever have at that church...
This bass compliments my '89 fretted SR4 quite well...I'm so excited that I named the bass already
she is going to be called BLACKIE at least to me and my band who also loves the sound and look of this bass...works great for those country ballads
Now that I have this bass, I'll be able to wait just a little bit longer for my pacific blue burst SR4 fretless with piezo to come in...the pics are a little rough looking, old camera and not a very good photographer i.e. ME...
