I'm new here and have been going thru some of the threads.
I have a question about the OLP line of guitars.
Any opinions,anyone tried one yet?
I'm curious as to if they are worth while and just firewood.
Thanks Guys....

I've seen these on ebay for a buy it now for like $190. So let me ask you this......Is a $40 hooker worthwhile or a $800 call girl? They're both whores, but one has class and style.

Guitars aren't any different - you get what you pay for!

I understand

I understand the premis of your reply. But,sometimes a start up company puts out very good quality stuff just to break into the market share.I believe this is the case with the OLP stuff.
To gain market share, they've given us more than expected.
Sure you get what you pay for,but sometimes you get lucky and a 40 dollar good time truely is allot of fun and without blowin your wad so to speak.

The OLP's are what they are - they're look-a-likes manufactured on the cheap overseas by another company entirely, who simply license the use of the EB/MM headstock and produce guitars that copy the Music Man line. They don't actually feel or sound much like the guitars they copy - the OLP "Silhouette" copy has a 16" fretboard radius, for example - and they don't use any of the hardware that EB/MM uses. Granted, these Asian factories are producing pretty darn nice instruments for the price nowadays, but OLPs are NOT Music Man guitars - not even close...

my 2¢ :D

After playing one, I think thats a fair observation. They are probably better than similar prices Epiphones and Squires. But I am sure that for a few hundred pounds more you could pick up a used 'real deal'
