Mine's evil twin?

I still giggle (in a manly way, mind you) when I think about you picking up mine over here and saying, "Hey, that's a pretty good bass."

Yes, Sterling, it is.

It is a pretty good bass.

(Have I said "thanks for that pretty good bass" this year?)

Around here we have an excellent luthier who can repair almost anything. He touched up a bass I didn't want to refinish. It was dinged all over and kind of cruddy looking. When he was done it looked great. Not new, but really good. He also fixed a nasty ding in a bass with an unusual finish. Not perfect, but if you didn't know it was there you'd have a hard time finding it. Both of these jobs were inexpensive (the ding repair was $40 IIRC). If you'd be happy with something that wasn't perfect but made the dings easy to ignore, you should find a good repair guy locally. He'll be a resource for you over the years.

Yeah I got a buddy who's talking to some people he knows over at Chuck Levin's

"Now I just need to figure out what I want to have airbrushed on..."

How about a 911 with a damaged front fender :)

hahaha, now that would make it an awesome story

It is not repairable....not reasonably at least......there are old pbasses with a lot worse going for 25k......enjoy it and play the hell out of it

I agree with BP, it could be worse. Now your bass has a story, and isn't a trailer queen anymore. I like to keep my basses nice too, but life happens and so do chips, nicks and all other forms of ugliness. I have a BC Rich bass that was set on fire, I keep it just for the story (it is still playable too) if that doesn't make you feel better then...give his girlfriend hickey and call it even.

Having the BC Rich that set on fire is a good story. Having a dinged bongo because you have a klutz of a friend, IMHO, is not.

Well, the BC Rich story is certainly interesting, we'll leave it at that for now. As far as the klutz, I don't know how to make that interesting, but battle scars are ok, it is just the start of your Bongo's life story, there will be more "patina" to come and that's ok, it gives your bass a testimony that is just starting, you'll see as time passes each scar on your bass will be memory and eventually you'll see them the way I see the dings and dents, scratches and other messes on mine. As added character.

The BC Rich, short version... Jealous woman, with a mean streak and a can of charcoal lighter fluid. NOT A GOOD thing.:)

Scurvy... how about something like this...

OMG... wow! I have absolutely NO idea who "Ken from Nonpoint" is but he is one lucky SOB! Those two Bongos look amazing. What a great paint scheme - it should be a standard option... reminds me of art deco ornamentation.
