Hi Y'all!

Newbie alert!

In the mood for buying my annual geetar purchase and it just so happens that a Musicman EVH or possibly Axis (with a premium maple top and matching headstock + killer Birdseye Neck) is next on my list......!
Any advice on prices, production year, colour (either trans orange, blue or pink or natural) etc would be gracefully received! Oh and where to buy one! There s a killer natural with a premium top on Ebay right now - advice on this one please and also on how to spot a Far eastern copy etc!

Look forward to getting to know y'all soon!

Welcome to the addiction!

My bud OC was trying to get rid of an EVH (pink in color) for a friend of his awhile ago. He might chime in and let you know if it is still available.

I personally play the JP models. I have played an Axis (kbaim's) and like 'em. Very nice guitars. I just happen to be a JP nut.....

The EVH pop up on ebay every now and then, they are starting to become rare. Are you gonna buy an axis new or used? don't rule out a Petrucci, Luke, Albert Lee, SUB, Silo, all are great guitars in their own right.

As koogie said, the Petruccil's are a great guitar, l got my first one about 2-3 weeks ago, and l have to say that l'm very impressed with it. With a piezo in it, it's unstoppable. I also have 2 Lukes and is a very versitle gutar, very nice and easy to play, they sound great, look great, what more could l want?

The Axis/EVH are a great guitar, l can't knock them, but make sure you try a couple other Ernie Ball guitars, you never know, you might prefer a silo to the Axis.

Good luck.

Scott.

Knox,

If you want a brand new Axis, there are a few Ernie Ball dealers here on the forum who will give you a good price and peace of mind.

Your profile doesn't indicate your location, but this would only apply if you're in the USA. The US dealers cannot sell overseas.

The above may have been slightly altered.

Tim, is that you? If it is then it'll be an Axis or EVH ONLY he's after...to join the Kramer, Wolfgang, Frankie replica etc ;)

I'll let this lot take over. Blame them for my addiction. Especially Keith...

LOL........Yup !Tis me Ali! And it is you to blame for my current addiction! You've brought the evil out in me! And if anyone has an MXR EVH Dunlop pedal to complete my collection it would be appreciated!

Welcome to the Addiction (used under license from koogie)

...and welcome to the friendliest guitar forum I've found on the web.

Worth checking out the Guitar pics thread at the top of the forum as well. I think there is almost every colour pictured in there somewhere...including the most gorgeous Pacific Blue Bursts :D

I take it the purple EVH at $4000+ isn't on your shopping list ;)

Knox - or anyone else looking for an EVH -

If I remember correctly, there is a used trans blue EVH w/matching headstock on the wall at a shop in NYC - Manny's Music. I'm not in the market for one so I haven't played it, but I have noticed it since it may be the only EBMM guitar in the place. The asking price was $2,499 US and it was there as recently as this past Monday and I also believe has been there for a while.

There may be some NYC guys on the forum who may have seen or played it or may have some insight to its history. I'm also not sure if they are able to ship used overseas, similar to not being able to ship new overseas. Someone from EBMM may be able to answer that question.

But if they can ship, the current exchange rate might be favorable for you.

Their website is mannysmusic.com. I didn't see it listed anywhere on the site, but it will give you the phone # if you want to contact them.

If you're intersted, let me know if you'd like me to take a lunchtime walk up there (this is a few blocks from my office) and gleen some more info.

(Gee but then I might have to leave my office, stop reading spreadsheets and loan documents and go look at guitars ;)

Hope this helps

Manny's has been putting that on eBay for the last year, here it is again:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=38085&item=3779874066&rd=1

As you can see, they have come down in price, considerably. If you read the description and look at the pics, it's pretty beat up.

Oh, if anyone here is looking for an EVH, I have two beauties here doing nothing but collection dust(trans-red quilt, trans-purple quilt). I also have 4 or 5 Axis models that I'm gonna put on eBay in a couple of months, around tax refund time, if anyone is interested, give me a buzz.

Slightly altered eh? hehehehehe.hahahahahahaah....is that for not being able to make it out there for the Morse show? If so, I deserve it......if not, game on!

No. Game is not on.

It's off.

The game is off.

There's no game here.

I swear.

In fact, there was never a game here.

Possibly one being played before I showed up.

But definitely not one since I've been here.

I'm quite certain.

Really.

I've just been playing a little guitar is all.

In fact, writing a new song called KOOGIE IS THE GREATEST.

;)

EVH Model Music Man for Sale

There's a newbie looking to buy an EVH music man. I'm a newbie and want to sell an EVH. I just don't play it any more. I bought it in about 94-95? serial # is 88019. BTW, if anyone can help me with the production date, that would be swell. It's a beautiful finish. Sunburst quilt top. Have no idea what a fair price is. I've seem them go from 1300 - to some nut job selling it for over 3 g's! Anyway, if you want it let me know. Mike

Brent, Dino, can you weigh in on how much you spilled out for your ambers? THe general rate that I've seen on the Bay for these guys are about 15-1600 if they not "holy grail" models, like that jack*ss on eBay recently was trying to pawn his off as.

Mike, I'd say take what Brent and Dino input about their recent acquisitions, the ebay range, and meet in the middle, then allow a little haggling room from there. ;) That should get you in a pretty fair range for both buyer and seller.
