They can be. I love my JP12. But I feel like every Petrucci that has come out in recent memory -- except the Majesty -- has been in a glittery color. Some of the finishes have been really great. I think the barolo color is probably my favorite. But after a certain point I think it gets tacky. We already have 3 standard JP models in sparkles/glitter. Do we really need every PDN guitar to come out in various shades of sparkles? The green one looked like a St. Patty's Day ornament. Again, I LOVE my JP12-7, but I'm also in the market for a JP 6 string and I just cannot do another glittery guitar. What happened to all of those beautiful quilt finishes? I would kill to get a JPX, 11, 12 or even 13 in a clear finish.

The Honey Roasted didn't fit your needs then?

I think it would be killer to see any MM with a buckeye burl top! My dream is to have a JP 7 BFR with a buckeye burl top. I would give my first born child.

That would be quite cool actually - not just having the PDN being a special "finish" but also a special top.

What I want, in addition to having a special finish (and perhaps top/neck/both), is having special inlays and perhaps some special badge inlay at 12th fret like the old "year-models" had. It doesn't necessarily have to be a year-number but something to really make the guitar stand out.

We all know the next PDN should be a birdseye roasted maple necks (unfinished of course) on any model just like the last rosewood special!!!

Sure would love to know when the next PDN (or any limited run like the rosewood) is coming. Getting a little GASsy again, but I don't want to jump on something now if there's more on the horizon.

I know with the Majesty, ASS Hollow, and Armada MM90, there's a lot out there. So it could be a while til we see something again. Just a little antsy and hoping for something like the honeyburst roast PDNs were.

There was JUST a rosewood run so I doubt it will happen again any time soon (last one was in 2009?).

Wasn't the Honey Roasted based off the old JP model that doesn't have any of the tone woods or symmetrical body or stainless steel frets?

The honey roasted package was available on almost all models I believe. Honeyburst finish, unfinished roasted neck, Pau ferro fretboard, mahogany body. Mmm..

This I did not know/see. Although I guess it didn't come with the tone woods if the body is mahogany. The one guitar I thought was by one thing away from perfection was that JPX 47th anniversary GC model. If that had stainless steel frets, that would have been it for me.

I'm not talking about another rosewood run. I bought an AL during this last one. I'm talking a special 1 month only run like the rosewood run was. Maybe a roasted run? Maybe an ebony board run? Hopefully another PDN run that is completely different like the honeyburst PDN run was rather than just a sparkle color.

I'm patiently waiting for the next sparkle series. Hoping for something like blue dawn or the perhaps a silverburst sparkle.

You can get silver sparkle on an Albert Lee HH as a standard color now. It looks amazing with the black pearloid pickguard.

You're right, Tollie. That combo does look awesome.

But the LIII is the guitar for me, so I'm waiting to get an LIII in a sparkle series color that I like. Just being patient for the next announcement. :)

Silverburst would be cool but I personally wouldn't want it sparkly. Or at least not as sparkly as the Emerald Green for instance.

How about a totally unique color? Something out of the dream lab in SLO. I think that would be a little more worthy of a PDN run. Pair it up with an unfinished roasted neck/fretboard and put the Game Changer technology in it for a hell of a package!
