Hi guys!

Well, today after much searching for the last couple years, found myself an all-original '94 Luke 1. And she is a closet queen!

This guitar has a few firsts for me. The biggest being the Floyd, since I've never owned or really even used one, I didn't know what to expect there. But I love it! And also,EMGs. Normally, I hate EMGs. I think the 81 is the worst pickup ever made. But the 85/ custom singles in this guitar outright scream and squeal like great pickups should, and my views of EMG have changed completely.
I'm in love! image.jpg
And she has been affectionally dubbed "Lucy".

*EDIT* Also, this very guitar used to belong to Vinnie Moore, which is pretty cool!

Stunning - one of the best colours IMO

Luke 1's are very special indeed.

Congrats on getting that one. I had been "watching" that one on the bay for quite some time.
It's a phenomenal guitar. In my opinion Luke 1's are the best incarnation of the Luke.

Knowing that Vinnie Moore owned yours is something special in my opinion.

Keep that thing stock for sure.

I also agree that the 85/single coils in the luke 1's are something special in that guitar, and that the 85 is much more versatile and usable than the 81.

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks Tom!
I'd been watching it for a little over a week, then once payday hit I shot the guy a fair offer and he accepted it! It's a great guitar, and apart from one song on the top it's a true closet queen. The logos haven't even worn off the EMGs....

Also if you're still interested, there's another Pearl Blue '93 on the bay for 1299 I believe....worth a look!

Thanks for the tip. I've been 'watching' that one for a while too. :D

I really don't need another Luke 1 right now, especially another Blue one.

It's no secret that I wish Big Poppa and EBMM would reissue them for general consumption. For me they are the greatest guitars ever made.

Cheers,

Tom

I'm both jealous and happy for you. Amazing score!

And yes I'd love to get a L1 reissue but unless there's some upcoming anniversary that would help, I don't see it happening.

Bryan,
In case you're interested in an original, there's one on eBay for $1299 + $50 shipping US. It's a '93, pearl blue, and in great shape, with original case. I posted a link to it in the eBay/Craigslist gem thread, feel free to dig for it!

They are certainly cool guitars. I'm now on the hunt for a Pearl Red one, which seems to be even more rare than the Blue ones...wish me luck!
