Somebody please stop this madness...... I've wanted one of these for quite a while. I found this one and it's absolutely mint. I think I got a great deal from GC used gear. Sorry for the crummy Iphone photos.

Holy #*#$ that's a beauty! HNGD! I WISH I had some $$$. There are some GREAT used deals out there. Not to hijack but I was just looking today and saw a couple of NICE white Reflexes that look REALLY nice from the photos.

Your sig is getting pretty long... :) Nice problem to have.

I'm blown away that it's mint! I made sure before they shipped it. I just ordered a set of pearloid buttons for the tuners. I'm sure they will look fantastic with that pearloid pick guard!

Wow, that is cool!! That is ust such an awesome color! What's the DOB? Pre 2005, but how much pre?

1-16-2002. It's really a pretty color. Here's a quick snapshot from the Iphone. Doesn't it look lonely down below? I'm trying to convince the wife that I need more wall hangers. I'll get some better family pics tomorrow.

That's a beauty. Your wall layout can't keep up with your gear lust!

Thanks Bryan. The really cool thing is that I wanted to sell something to make room for this one. The wife came upstairs to check out my new purchase and said " Oh, you can't sell any of these, they're all beautiful". She's a keeper, and so are my Balls.

I owned a Strat that was actually the same color. I'm comfortable with that body style ,sort of. I'm only 5'7", so the Axis body really feels good to me. That's why I have such an affinity for them. I'll get used to the body style again. The humbucker is not as hot as my Axii, but the single coils are incredible. I needed this in my arsenal.

The humbucker is vintage output and tone - sounds just like an old PAF. It is a fantastic pickup and I don't think I'll ever go back to a single coil in the bridge again. I can sit and play clean chords all day with it and never get bored, and then with some gain it just sings! The Silo Special body is a little smaller than a strat too, which just seems awkward and ungainly in comparison.

Doc,
This is totally uncharted territory for me. Thanks for the insight. I have hardly played it, but I totally get what you're saying about the clean tones.:D:D

Congrats on a great find!!!

The only comment I can make now is you need one more - you have an un-even number of guitars!!!! LOL. Enjoy

Yep. When you look at all the other guitars in the MM stable, the Silhouettes may at first seem a little underpowered and underrated. But the vintage tones are exactly what they were going for.

I think of the silhouette Special as a cross between a strat and an SG. If I recall correctly (though I can't find the quote) BP once commented that the humbucker was chosen for a mid-60's SG vibe (Clapton Cream era) and the SG also influenced the sculpted horns. The single coils were chosen for a 60s vibe - a little fatter, warmer, and less brittle than a 50s stye single coil.

But then again, it's such a versatile guitar that it'll not embarrass itself in any style of music.
