So Spud, since this is my first AL, can I expect my ALOC membership ring in the mail soon?
About a year ago I really got the fever for an AL HH. I was planning on ordering a new one in Lake Tahoe Blue but then I ran across an awesome deal on the used Silo Special I bought last year. I love the Silo but in the back of my mind I was really wanting another HH guitar; I've owned a couple of Axis (Axii?) over the yeras and really wanted to give the Albert Lee body a shot.
Fast forward to January '13. With the state of the firearms industry in the US, I figured now was the time to sell one of my rifles & turn a good profit (and boy did it ever!). I bought this one from the Guitar Center in Joilet, IL. It worked out well that this was the same color that I was going to order last year.
Finally got to take it to band practice last night and crank it up at stage volume. MY GOODNESS does this thing just sing! I've owned plenty of dual humbucker guitars in Strat-style bodies over the years but none of them have sounded as creamy & rich as this one. The african mahogany really gives this thing some mojo.
Yeah yeah, trem arm doesn't match (this is the one from by SUB1):
AL HH, Silo Spec, SUB1:
My 2-year old approves!
Edit: One more!:
