Wow. What an amazing instrument. I've only played on her for a few minutes at this point, but this is one amazing axe. It shipped from Sweetwater (thanks Dylan!) literally in PERFECT TUNE. Even after jamming for 30 minutes I haven't even touched the tuners.
Obviously, the thing is very well-made. Stainless steel frets are impeccable. The rosewood is luxurious as you'd imagine, and the thing is light-weight! The pickups/switching configuration is brilliant, versatile and highly usable in every position (neck HB, inner coils, both HBs, outer coils, and bridge HB).
I was a bit hesitant to get this guitar despite major GAS for it thanks to Mike Einziger of Incubus hailing it as the greatest guitar ever. I'm a 7-stringer kinda guy - plus this has a 10" radius, and I love my JPXI's 20" super flat radius. But lemme tell you; I think this may be my new favorite non-Majesty guitar ever! The tone is unbelievable. The intonation is perfect. It may take a little getting used to since the action is a bit higher and radius is rounder, but I feel like I can really beat on this thing. It feels VERY expressive. Another important thing about it is that John Petrucci doesn't play it so there's no psychological need for me to shred on it or compare myself with anyone with it (I know I shouldn't do that anyway, but it's hard not to...).
Now, the pron from my iPhone:

At first, I really wanted the trans-walnut one; but Sweetwater didn't have any and there was no arrivals coming anytime soon; so I "settled" for the Diego Blue one, but I love it and I think the contrast of the vivid blue and the dark rosewood neck is very inspiring. I can't wait to start jamming and writing songs! Thanks for looking, e'ry body!
