I just sold my soul for a used Mystic Dream JP6 (fully loaded).
I went to GC to check out the EVH Fenders. I was looking for a guitar with a tremolo and that I could Drop D on easier than my Ibanez JS 1000. I tried a bunch of stuff and nothing was really calling to me. The EVH had such a horrible fret job. The manager cut his hand open taking the guitar down from the fret work on the guitar. Looking around I see that they have a Mystic Dream JP6 on the wall. Got the guitar down and went into the private room to check it out. What a difference in quality vs all of the other guitars I was trying out.
My wife who was with me, wasn't really digging that I wanted to buy a new guitar. But I explained to her, that even if I stared to sell off my other gear tomorrow, the chances are that this guitar is going to be gone very soon. I agreed to sell off my two other electrics for the JP6. I had to wait two weeks to pick up the guitar. It had not cleared (police hold) to be sold yet. When I picked up and spoke to the manager, the guitar had been on the floor for less than 24 hours.
Brought it to the next band rehersal. The guitar is fantastic. The best neck I have ever played on. Being able to switch between an acoustic and electric sound with a flick of the switch is game changing for me. it really opens up the type of music I am doing with my band. Great sounds out of the JP6, but I still have some tweaking to do with my Nova System and the JP6.
So this weekend I take the guitar out and play and I notice that the 3 way pickup selector switch isn't working properly. I am pretty pissed, but what am I going to do. I called GC and they have a 30 day return policy. I spoke to the manager and they will fix the switch. I just hope they do the correct job. I am just glad that I have a decent relationship with the guitar tech.
I still need to post some pics, but all in all I am really happy.
