Well, I really wasn't into the amber evh at all, so it now sits at guitar center. With my natural being restored(which Im REALLY into) I feel I don't really need any other evh's at this point(until I get my pink back)
Went to my local gc and they really hooked me up. I got this beautiful new axis tribute and a nice stack of franklins for the evh. No money lost on the deal. As much as I hate to admit it, and I think I have before, the axis really does play better. Im really digging this one, plus it has a sweet top. Cant wait for wednesday when the bfr axis arrives
As a side note, I got to play it through a Friedman Brown Eye…instant erection, literally. What a freaking amp! That may have to be my next purchase:roll eyes:

You are perhaps not the first to admit it but many wouldn't dare, unfortunately. But it kinda makes sense in many ways right? When launching the Axis EBMM obviously took the opportunity chance to make a few little changes that were not to the EVH original spec but suited many people better - particularly the switch location, tummy cut and neck width on the higher frets to avoid string slippage. Yes the old EVH guitars have their magic but the Axis should suit more people better. It's longevity to this day speaks volumes for that. Good on ya, I say! And that is a gorgeous guitar!

Hey Roger, Congrats on a beautiful Axis. Which BFR Axis did you get?

Which local GC had a Friedman? Did they also have his Pink Taco?

I got a trans black with rosewood board, came from the nashville store and will be here wednesday. Boston has the Friedman brown eye hooked up to the matching cab. I saw the pink taco 112 cab but I didn't see the head.

congrats to this beauty, but that top sucks!!! ;)

btw. i prefer the original evh neck over the axis neck.

this is still one of the things I still prefer on the evh, plus I like the evh pup selector location more. The problem with the evh is when buying them mint its hard to want to put play wear on them. I MAY buy more once my natural is finished but if I do it will probably be player condition ones.

Nice guitar. On the EVH vrs Axis - I'd take my EVH over the 3 Axis I have played.

This isn't meant to be a vs. match between the 2. Im an Ed head, would I take an evh over an axis, yes because of the actual association to Ed. I've struggled with EBMM guitars in the past because of that little signature on the headstock. But what it comes down to is the evh's are too collectable to play when they're in mint condition. Will I end up with more evh's. I say no now but chances are I will never stop buying them lol.

Killer top on that purple, almost as nice as mine. Lol. As far as EVH's; I really like the way my tributes play slightly better. I won't get rid of my EVH's , though. They are incredible.
