Last week I got a craving for a red Axis so I was eyeing a used one on GC's website which had been there for about a month and had recently undergone a price drop to $1,299. Since it had a 5 star condition rating my interest was piqued and I emailed them an offer of $1,200 out the door which I think is reasonable for a regular Axis in good condition. I received a response the next day, they accepted and it just arrived. I opened it up and much to my delight I am looking at a lovely Red Tribute which doesn't really look to have been played! I had no idea it was Tribute when I ordered it and maybe it doesn't make much of a difference, but for that price I'll take any dead mint Tributes people want to throw my way. A definite good deal but above all I'm happy to have a Red Axis again.

I know what you mean about reds not photographing clearly. Below is a picture of my very rare RED Quilt Gamechanger. It's really hard to see in this picture:

Couple of pics after the obligatory Super Lock strap button and D-Tuna were installed. I'm not sure why red doesn't get more love around here, it's a very good look on these guitars. A nice Tribute at a nice price.

The backs on the Tributes are a light brown instead of black. I knew something was up when I opened the box because the cases are different too.

nice score congrats! I think Red is somehow underatted with the tribute cause there was a lot of EVH in that color. I think most of the people rushed on the pink, purple and green cause those where the rarest color

I think it is the first time I've ever had GC wheel and deal with me on their used inventory. I usually can't get them to give me $5 off of used stuff.
