Man it feels good to finally be able to post a new guitar day and share with you guys! I've been hard at work these last six months or so getting our shop running like a top and haven't had the time I'd like to just PLAY guitar! So, my chops are taking a hit, that's for sure, but what better way to make the time to practice than getting a new and amazing guitar?
I was very curious what the tone wood combination would result. Surprisingly, this is not the overly 'warm' tone I was expecting. The warmth is there but it also exhibits a very snappy, bright tone. Overall, it has an incredibly balanced tone that is very satisfying to hear. I'll follow up this post with a sound example, maybe a video, when I get some free time. For now though please enjoy the pics!

Blah. All this Koa Rosewood content is almost making me regret my choice of Bahama Blue Burst Rosewood.
Can't wait until I get mine!! Should be this month!

Ben - that guitar is sick!!! Looks awesome. Interesting that it wasn't as warm sounding as you expected. I know when I had a koa Luke, it was definitely warmer than a regular Luke, but did maintain some brightness as well. Anyway, great score!

Sick! The grain on the rosewood is divine!! How does the rosewood neck sound? I saw a JP12-7 with a rosewood neck and I was super-tempted as I prefer unfinished necks… but without being able to play it, I just didn't want to take the chance.
