Have been enjoying my silhouette for a couple of months and just really wanted the versatility and customization of the GC. Almost pulled the trigger on the Majesty, but reconsidered because of the wider neck. I have had a Wolfgang (and Special), Axis (briefly because GC sent a "like new" that was all jacked up), and still play a Parker radial. Playing the Parker and Silhouette interchangeably convinced me I need to stay with the 1 5/8 nut. And I wanted to be able to dial in custom voicings: if the technology is available and works, why wouldn't you? Such a brilliant approach.
The neck feels to me like a hybrid Axis/Silhouette, which means not much of a difference from the Silhouette. Only played once, but it felt great (maple neck, though I almost went with rosewood for a tinge less bright sound, but in the end my ears can't discern much of a difference and I already play a maple, so if it ain't broke).
One question for the crowd that knows: how does the active setting affect the pickups. Is it a clean gain boost, or is more like overdrive that causes clean sounds to break up as well? I'll know soon enough, I guess, but just curious.
