One-off built for Mr. Lee, as mentioned above...

Oh, that's gorgeous. I even love the color. Not looking to sell, perchance? :)

So, if the man himself prefers 2 MM90s, I wonder why that's not been a thing?

They don't sell guitar with the MM90 option, they only seem to show up as BFR's or one offs. As for the AL with 2 MM90's it would compete with the AL HH, which is a very popular guitar I would think.

I would love to own that, but it belongs to Mr. Lee... that was some years ago, no idea if he still has it...
The closest I own is this oddball "custom" AL I bought used some years ago that arrived with some aftermarket electronics mess installed.
I replaced all that with a pair of railhammer "Tel-90's" I had on hand. Sounds fabulous!

Is the body route standard on the ALs to accommodate all different pickup configurations?

From my experience no, cannot comment on the HH though, never looked or tried to change the pups but SSS is routed SSS and MM-90 is for MM-90 only , will not fit other P-90 style pups and the pups on an MM-90 are not screwed to the pick guard but the body
