NGD! JP6; + Tremol-no question...

It's great. That's it. Great deal on a second hand but mint Pearl Redburst (mhmm... red). She's pretty as can be.
Neck is thinner than I like but the profile is VERY comfy; I oiled and waxed it and it was a little rough. It's like a lubed-up highway now.

Now here's the thing; I don't use trems much, and I have a spare tremol-no. I've not yet re-strung/taken it apart, I was just wondering if someone here had tried it?
Another thing; I've used to Strat trems or non-recessed Floyds, and I put in a thick cloth or sock between the trem and guitar to prevent marring the finish. Looks this can't really happen on the JP6; do you guys simply let it rest in its cavity and be pulled by the springs away from the posts?

I have used the Tremolo-no on a JP. It was one of the first models with the clamp. Worked well.

When I change strings I always remove them all at once. To prevent the term from dropping into the body, I use an old paper towel roll. I flatten it and fold it over a few times to get some strength and then place it under the Bridge prior to removing the strings. This holds the bridge in place until the strings are back on the guitar.

Seems just about perfect for this small gap and fits my train of thoughts perfectly. Thanks! It'll also greatly simplify the tremol-no installation

I too have a Tremol-no on a JP and it works perfectly.

Also I would highly recommend getting hold of one or two of these door wedges for string changing.

Made of rubber so it won't harm the finish, and it's a wedge so it's ALWAYS exactly the right thickness to fill the gap between bridge and body. Pops right in there and won't budge until you want it to.

Keep one in your tool kit with string changing tools and you're always ready!

Alrighty, done and dusted. Tremol-no fit a treat. Only thing is the grub screws protrude slightly, so the rear-cavity cover would not sit flat. I simply didn't keep it on.

The guitar doesn't sustain too well and the frets are surprisingly small for a guitar like this; not too good in case a level is needed, but those look very good. I'm getting some buzz though and the neck doesn't budge after a truss-rod adjustment. This one will require a careful setup to get rid of that low-strings buzz...
