This guitar was haunting me for quite a while now. I made the mistake of playing it. Went in to try some LIII goodness, but could not bond completely with the feel of the necks. So with the extra sales this weekend at GC it worked out pretty well. It didn't take much for me to cave.

I must say the Koa JP is the King of JPs. The tone is quite punchy and clear. Not muddy with gain. GOtta be the mahogany body.

That said here's pics from the GC website. The color is a little les red than what shows here. I love the look better than the previous version with gold hardware. This one has some nice streaking and some nice flame to it as well.

what a stunner!

id love to have a jp koa, EXCEPT with a x/xi/12 body. ever since having a jp12 i keep noticing the bigger upper horn on the older bfr's, and how much i prefer the symmetrical thin horns now. dont get me wrong its still beautiful but im prefering the newer jp's shape these days.

im hoping there will be a koa xi/12 in the future. id trade in my jp12 if i had to!

How did you manage that? The GC LD coupon specifically had Music Man on it's exclusion list.

Congrats Lou as that is a beaut, fits in nicely with your other wicked JP's.

As far as the exclusion list it seems like most GC stores honored the Labor Day sale prices on whatever you wanted. I have seen a lot of this all over the place, it seems like all you had to do was ask.

That's absurdly beautiful. I like the gold hardware on Koa but the chrome does look amazing as well. Shoot, black would be nice too. :)

Koa and Spalted are on my list of want-want-want!

Dayum. I called and asked about them taking anything off an Apogee Duet and they said no. Oh well. Anyway - congrats on the awesome JP!
