Hey guys, just got my new baby last night. A Luke PDN Vintage Tobacco Sunburst with maple neck and matching headstock. Amazing piece of work, as always.

Thanks EBMM!

Nice guitar! (Though I still can't get used to the idea of Lukes with a plain maple neck. Weird!)

Yes, you are right. It feels funny looking at it. But it plays great, sounds great and is quite "special". haha

that is fantastic, how bright is the tone compared to you other Luke's?

Good question. I don't have a standard Luke 2 to compare but taking my Luke 1 and LIII, my new one has definitely a brighter tone going more into a strat direction.

Interesting.
My LIII is very zingy sounding with a ton of sustain, even when strummed acoustically, and I put that down to the roasted neck. My Luke I and II both have a lot less sustain, but I still prefer the sound of the EMGs over the Dimarzio's in the LIII, probably because of the more focused controlled sound the EMGs have, but I did wonder how different an all maple neck would sound.
