yesterday I picked up a Music Man Reflex guitar.
I've long been aware of how good the Ernie Ball guitars are having played many, but none of them suited how I play and the perception of "shredding" guitars didn't sit well with me when playing live. When the reflex came out it seemed much better suited to what I was after, however in the UK, it was almost impossible to get to try one, however a kind dealer got one in for me t the exact spec I wanted and I must stress exact spec (pretty impressive for a dealer to do this without a confirmed order).
Went to the dealer, tried it, was totally blown away by it, amazing, amazing guitar. It was bought on the spot.
It's the first music man I've got on with that suited me, I'm really pleased with it and I have no understanding of how they can deliver such a guitar for such a low price. Clearly designed by players, simple things like the lack of finish on the back of the neck, the contour on the body, everything just works.
I use Ernie Ball strings anyway, but this guitar just seems perfect with them.
I ended up with a rosewood board hard tail bridge reflex, and I can recommend the hard tail very well, big big sound.
The UK dealer I used was Tone World - so if you're in the UK looking at Music Man gear, look them up, they went above and beyond when no other dealer would even discuss getting a Reflex in for me to try unless I was willing to commit to an order.
