Hi folks, I am super excited and very happy of my new purchase of Musicman Silhouette. I've been waiting quite a long time to have a Silo since it's kinda hard to have a Musicman guitars in my country (I live in Indonesia by the way). The new ones are really expensive here, the sole distributor charges all the duty fees to customers. Say USD 1500 guitars will come around USD 2300 here  (rare brands do, other brands like Fenders don't have that big differences), buying new ones is not really an option here. Used ones are extremely hard to find, no ones are selling their Balls for sure :D.

A couple of weeks ago when I tried to sell my GNL Asat, the buyer told me that he wants to sell his Musicman Silo, which he just bought in 2 months. He said he likes a thinner neck. When he brought it to my house I fell in love the minute I opened the case. This is the guitar I always want my whole life since I first learned how to play guitar. Alder body, maple neck, HSH, piezo, sunburst colour in new condition 100%, no scratch at all, changed the bridge pickup with a tone zone. I'm a big fan of Andy Timmons too, and this guitar is a EBMM version of Andy's according to me. When he saw me play his guitar he the suddenly felt in love again with this beauty and want to keep it. Since then I just keep dreaming if one day he wants to sell it.

Last week he invited me to his house for playing his guitars. He has a GNL Legacy Strat that was his holy grail Strat. When I tried it I said to him that his legacy a really nice strat far beyond his Silo, actually I lied to him convincing him to sell his Silo :D (what an evil I was :D). To be honest I know GNL makes pretty good stuff, but comparing to EBMM ? not even close ;). EBMM's are way beyond GNL for sure. He still thought that his Legacy is way better than his Silo. Actually it's because he just screwed up on the settings of the Silo, too thin gauge effects playability as well as the sounds become so thin.

Yesterday he text me asking me to buy the Silo cause he has another GAS coming. The price is quite fair (used price for a brand new). I told him I will hand him the cash and the meeting was so fast. Last night I changed with Ernie Ball 10's, adjust a little bit, and BOOMM...I played it 3 hours non stop !!! I even can't go to sleep right away.

Well folks, I'm a really happy man for having the guitar I always wanted my whole musical life. Enough talking, here are the photos :D : Sorry for crappy photos.

Thanks for all the compliments folks. I really dig this guitar. The combination of Dimarzio Paf Pro, single coil, and Tone Zone gives great Andy Timmons' tone. When I set the neck pickup low it almost sounds like a single coil with bigger output, good clarity and still has that single coil snap. I will keep it "hardtail", since I already have a JP and Axis for floating and down only trem. First piezo guitar for me and the piezo sounds amazing. The downside of this guitar is probably the middle pickup, sounds thin and too much treble. I will change it with a CS 69, hope it gives more vintage single coil honk.

Had to come back and take ANOTHER look!!

Awesome looking guitar.
IMO that would look a classic looking guitar with a tort pickguard.

No trem arm?

Thanks for the tortguard opinion spud, maybe I will have a second pickguard set with a mint green guard, white set of Dimarzio Humbucker From Hell neck, Fender CS69 middle, and Dimarzio AT-1. Well it's still a plan, but what are you guys' opinion of those set ? Vintage look and modern sounding "strat" (SILO) anyone ?
