As I mentioned in another thread - holy cow, what a nice guitar, should got one years ago. The Tele-ish bridge pup will prove very useful to me in my Steve Cropper role in my Stax band, and the quack in the notch positions has me wondering why Robert Cray doesn't play one of these. :)

The only thing I am considering changing is the neck pup - the AlnicoII Pro's have never been my favorite neck pup.

The playability and quality are of course top-notch, and I finally found an EBMM neck shape that I really dig. Not a '50s boat (hint), but close enough.

Without further delay, pics on my groovy '70s lounge chair:

Ah, that is just awesome. Love the grain on that one, too. Very nice!

What are you thinking for a neck pickup?

The ALOC decoder ring and secret handshake instructions are in the post!!

Great AL - I bet that neck looks better in the flesh than it does in the photos - and it looks good in the photos.

The neck profile? - sheesh if thats big what was I playing all those years on my LP?;)

That colour is better than great. I know other guitar models don't use ash for the body wood and might not look so good with a transparent finish but still, I'd love a Sihouette Special in trans blue.

I thought by the headstock it was going to be a Pinkburst BFR and the Blue totally took me by surprise-I love it! As Kev stated the T-Blue over Ash looks amazing which I can attest too as I have a ........ with that combo lol. I always felt the Axis had the best EBMM neck profile until I got my AL! Congrats LD you got hit pay dirt.

This was the hit of the gig, band loved it. Plays like a dream. Said it before, say it again, shoulda got one of these years ago.

Currently doing my thing and swapping out pickups I have laying around the house, as usual with a new axe. Actually did the gig with (don't flame me) a set of Lace Sensors - the rainbow set. I know according to the interwebs that I'm not supposed to like them, but I've gigged my F*nders for years with them and like the feel and response I get live, so for consistency's sake I swapped those in as it's what my band is used to hearing. The emerald neck sounded great (one of my fave neck pups, flamers be dammed), and the notch positions are awesome. The Lace's actually sounded more lively in the AL than my '92 SRV. The drummer asked what the pups were, and when I mentioned they were the same pups I had used last week, he thought it sounded better. And he never comments on my tone. :)

I have some clips if your interested in this combo.

I was real impressed with how the AL hangs, and of course the natural finish neck is to die for. I really played well all over the neck. Solid three-hour outdoor gig in 90º temps, played effortlessly.

Did I mention I shoulda got one of these years ago???
