Picked it up locally off CL and am seriously impressed! It's in absolute mint condition and looks completely unplayed! I've been a die-hard Ibanez fan for 15 years but must say that this JP6 has made me start to question things...

And the collection (minus a USA Tele which is at my Dad's) from left to right: 2010 JP6, 2010 Ibanez JS1600PSV (I put a D-Sonic in the bridge though), 1999 Ibanez RG-PR1, 2010 Ibanez RG1421F

Sorry for the crappy pics, had to use my phone for now.

I bet we'll see those Iba's on eBay real soon. Great purchase and good luck.
LOL! Actually the RG1421F already is listed on Jemsite and Craigslist (it's a shame, it's a great guitar but the neck is just too flat for me). I still really like the JS mostly because it's super comfortable to play so it's a keeper. Somehow it has become my main practice guitar which is what I had bought the RG1421 for.

There is no way I'm selling the RG-PR1 though! It's kinda an oddball for an RG though. It's got an Ultra neck (thicker and rounder than the Wizard neck) and has an awesome wood combo (Mohagany body, Flame Maple top, Ebony Fretboard, etc. Plus they only made 12 so if I regretted selling it I'd pretty much be screwed. I sadly don't play it as much but partially because I'm a little paranoid. It's still my all-time favorite Ibby though.

If the JP stays at the top of the play list (probably will) I'll probably eventually pickup a BFR or something. Maybe a JPX, we'll see... I just ordered a Mark V head so it'll be a while before I buy any more gear.

Thanks for the comments guys! I can't wait to hear it through my new amp!

Congrats on the new (to you) JP. I got a used one a number of years ago, and without question it is my #1 guitar. You can just FEEL the quality that goes into an EBMM guitar when playing one.

Enjoy the new guitar, and happy playing!

I agree 100% on the "feel". Also, I was really surprised how much the body resonates!

It's funny, at first I wasn't going to get a JP6 cause I didn't like the looks of the body and especially the cutout where your right forearm sits. But, when I saw it in person I really liked the shape. Still even now, I don't like the shape in pictures but love it when I pick it up. I think I may be a little nuts...

Beautiful JP Emu. One of those in the exact same color went up for sale local to me and I didn't spot it quick enough. I've always regretted not getting that one, this brings all the pain back, LOL. Congrats and welcome!

Well the JP is the best looking axe anyway...never been a fan of Ibanez. The necks just don't feel right to me..to each it's own i assume.

I know this is a MM forum...and I'll say like the rest of them...the new JP is sweet....but I gotta say...your RG-PR1 is really sweet. I've always wanted one of those...and I know what you're saying about the Wizard necks...I've got and RGT320Q-RBB...it's an amazing looking guitar..and it plays pretty good too..but the neck certainly isn't my favorite.

Enjoy the new guitar

I couldn't agree more, neck feel is a very big deal. I just can't believe it took me this long to figure out that I didn't like wide/flat necks, lol. The PR1, JS, and JP6 feel a lot better to me. I'm completely in love with the back of the JP6 neck btw. I really wish the BFR necks weren't painted :(

hey EvilEmuOfDoom, if you like the neck of the JS, you should check out a Y2D very quick! and of course a JP BFR is an awesome guitar!
forget about your IBZs, no matter how rare they are or not....switch over to EBMM - there will be a lot of rare models as well - and you will enter a higher level of guitars. :)

don´t get me wrong, i don´t want to offense you in any way, but i sold off a lot of cool and rare guitars to refinance my EBMMs, because they are saddled at a higher level as any IBZ, Jackson or Charvel you can get.

Definitely not offended. I can now see why EBMM owners are so brand loyal, the quality is pretty amazing. The Ibanez J-Custom builds come arguably close but are more expensive than most EBMM guitars surprisingly. My PR1 is a J-Custom build but badged Prestige because it was a US run and they weren't exporting J-Customs until this year. The difference between it and my other Ibanez guitars is noticeable. I don't think I'll ever sell the PR1 but I'm pretty sure this won't be my only EBMM for very long either ;)
