I bought this guitar in June 2001 at Music Center Canada. It was a Purple Axis, I ended up selling it later that year because I found a Purple EVH. Well anyways to make a long story short, I got a call from a friend who told me that my original purple Axis I bought in 2001 was for sale, I thought I should buy it back as it was my first Ernieball I ever bought. I have had lots and have lots now so I thought it would be right to bring her back home since she was the one that started my love for Musicman guitars.

Nice...the top on that one looks very very similar to the purple Axis I just got. Is it true that purple Axis models are fairly rare?

They stop making Purple a few years ago, I wouldn't say super rare but they don't do that color anymore, they are doing purple Tributes right now. The purple Axis's after the Eddies are quite dark and hard to see the quilt, The Tributes are alot lighter and are hand stained in a different way.

Thanks for this information. And the quilt is very hard to see on mine as well. Great guitar though.
