Hi everybody!

I`m glad to intoduce you with new member of my small family. It`s a 2001, Silhouette Special in White Sparkle wich i have recieved today. First impresions. White Sparkle colour is unbelievable, like magic...Guitar is in overall near mint condition. Feel and sound very well (but that is old very known story ;) ) , and it`s a lightweight, what is very important for me. Now i must do some little adjustment and that`s it. I`m really, really happy. :)
One thing. I can`t open box for battery. Maybe, previous owner did not properly put battery in. I`m afraid, i can to break it. What can i do?

Congrats, it looks like one that was owner by a forum member. White Sparkle is the best IMO.

The battery compartment is screwed into the body with (I think) 4 screws. Take them out and gently take out the batt.compartment (be sure not to pull too hard, sometimes the wires are relatively short...had mine break on me.. Easily soldered back though). Once out of the body it's easier to look at the problem and perhaps pry open the compartment.

Edit: the Silo will function without battery just as well , by the way. It's just used for the silent circuit on the neck pickup. It'll be a bit more noisy, but same sound.

Very nice Silo Special! Congrats! The battery compartment is hard to open sometimes, but it should not be impossible. Better that way than having it swing open randomly right? :)

Congrats and the White sparkle is very sharp indeed. I guess Customer Service could walk you through though it seems like there is an issue as it should open easy. On guitars I have owned that used a 9v battery if I could not get it open I would very carefully use a straight pin in one of the screw hole corners just enough to get the tip in and pull out.

Thank you guys! I played Fender stratocaster for 17 years, but now one day after, i can tell you only Silhouette Special is good enough! :) For someone who is not member of this forum (have not MM guitar) and read about our impresions, wows, etc. all about that can sound like blah, blah story and some advertising. Only owners of MM guitars know the truth. :)

Mark-NL. Thank you for advice. I am successfuly opened a box for battery!

One more thing. I have not a little spring for saddle on low E string. I guess, someone put it out and tighten up screw to can adjust properly intonation, but in my opinion, now after adjusting truss rod i must loosen that screw. Can i find somewhere, just that little springs for saddles?

Hey Vly,

I'm glad you are digging your Ball ! And glad my little tip worked out.

As for the spring, I'm sure any local EBMM dealer would be able to order this for you. (If you can't find any locally, you might search abroad. A spring is easily put in an envelop and posted, shouldn't be a problem)

Normally you'd be able to find dealers here, but there seems to be a database error at the moment

I got tremolo arm with black tip with guitar.
In local music store they have Fender tips in white. Did you know, does it compatible with MM arm?

No Idea, sorry. (I think I'd leave the black tip, goes well with the rosewood neck, but hey, it's your axe, go crazy man :D)

PS. I checked out your youtube channel, now i've got TICO TICO stuck in my head!!!!!... Great playing BTW, you play like 10 times better than I ever will :D

And..i'm fascinated by your pinkie
