Quick story before we get to what everyone wants to see.
It was 10 years ago that I got my first Axis, a Christmas gift from my wife. I had never owned a quality guitar before that, and I was immediately in love (the whole story is around here somewhere if you want to dig that far in the archives.) I had a hit list and a plan to collect a whole bunch of EBMMs, but as life often does at plans, it laughed. We ended up going through a lot of rough years with cutbacks and layoffs in my industry, health issues for my wife and just general bad times. I sold several of my lesser guitars to get through it, and came very close to having to sell the Axis a couple of times, but I barely managed to be able to hang on to it.
Fast forward, 10 years later. I'm in a new industry, and life is much better. So, I thought I'd celebrate by getting back to my EBMM collection plans. The second one was always going to be a black cherry burst ASS with trem and piezo. Several parts of that being no longer available, I decided that the special occasion called for a special guitar, so here's my 10th anniversary starry night SS.
As you guys who have seen them in person know, it's really hard to capture the depth and awesomeness of this finish. And the neck beats even my other Axis. It's like glass.
