Hi Guys,

Just received this new AX3 guitar from the recently released SUB series. From first impressions, it seems like a very well built and sounding instrument for the price point, exactly what Pat and the others from SBMM were going for. Tuning seems very stable and the pickups sound great. Only thing i've noticed is the bridge pickup is the wrong way round, but it doesn't bother me. I used to have a white Silo30 that I unfortunately had to let go last year, so I'm glad to be back with the Musicman vibe with this guitar :)

Wow! That looks fantastic!

Owen.....do you plan to flip the pickup? I've purposely flipped pickups to be like that in the past, but indeed it gives you different sounds compared to the other way.

I think that i'll probably keep it the way it is to be honest. It sounds great in all positions so doesn't bother me. I think i might actually prefer it this way from a visual standpoint. I like the unifomity of both pickups being the same way round! Strange I know.......

Hi Owen - Nice guitar! Congrats! How does the tuning hold up after some hefty trem work?

Yeah I was wondering how it would do with that. The answer is pretty well. Its not gone out of tune once after some fairly heavy use of the trem!

Nice! I think this is the first SBMM S.U.B. NGD post here. Very cool. The ones I played at NAMM felt incredibly solid and I truly could not believe the build and feel. Pat and the gang have worked hard on bringing some serious value with this series. They did well!

Hi,

I got this from a music store in the UK called Andertons. The Sub series are out in the UK and Europe at the moment but are not set to launch in the U.S. until September :(

Thanks, Owen
