Unexpected NGD in 2014.. Was looking for a 'budget' guitar to put in D standard/drop C tuning permanently. Then I bumped into this one and thought, why not! The seller turned out to be a fellow forum member and hè made me a good deal. Already planned to sand the neck on this one, and boy what an improvement! Really fun job to do also. Future modding is a possibility, pickups and pickguard maybe? Anyway, she's tuned to drop C know (12-54), works perfectly.

That looks REALLY nice! I LOVE the black pickup/white pick guard look. Outstanding! Congrats on a great find!

Thanks guys.

That came out really great.

Yeah, really pleased how the neck turned out. It is really smooth after the oil/wax treatment. As much as I like the finished neck on my AL HH, the finished neck on the SUB wasn't my taste. Plus it had some minor scratches/dings, which are now gone.

Don't think you can get a more solid guitar for the money. The pickups sound good, so for now it's ok.

Not to hijack but since we're on the subject of Sub1's, I think after I get my finances in order (thanks to the incoming Reflex :)) I'm going to save up and find a Sub1 with a trem on it in a HH configuration like yours. The pups on those ROCK! The only thing missing are locking tuners which could be retrofitted I'm sure.

The tuners on the trem model lock/unlock on top with a coin or screw driver. Not on the back with a wheel like other Music Man guitars. Still, they work quite well. I've seen no need to upgrade mine.
