So a little back story before pictures, two days ago I called a music store which is quite far away and I was told they had a black cherry burst axis in stock, brand new and that they just took it out of the case and put it right back to get pictures. So my dad drove me up and we got there and they didn't have it, turns out the guy I talked to lied to me because they closed at 6 and I called at around 5:55-6:00 so he wanted to go home. So we drove to the Guitar Center a few miles away and they thought they only a Reflex and some John Petrucci models, but they asked the manager and they had an Axis in Trans gold. So he got it down for me (it had been hanging on the very top row of guitars for a few days because they got a huge shipment of PRS guitars that needed the case). Anyways, the guitar is in perfect condition, no scratches, dings, dents, anything and it comes with everything it does brand new. So we told him the price the other store wanted and they beat it so I bought it. When I got home I looked it up and I have a 20th anniversary tribute model, the things that tipped me off were the chocolate brown back and the leather case.

This guitar plays like a dream, I love everything about it, I didn't think I was going to like trans gold because of internet pictures, but man its a beautiful guitar. It has a great quilt and Birdseye maple neck.

Without further ado...pictures!

Thanks! Yeah I love the brown back, it matches the gold amazingly, I didn't even realize it was a tribute until he got the different case and than I was like "wait it has a brown back too, this might be special" haha

Thanks man! And yeah its hard for me to put it down, especially with how busy this week is I haven't had quite enough time to play it, but almost every second I get I am playing it haha. I am going to get the EVH D-tuna soon hopefully and install it so I can go between Eb and Drop C# :D I can't wait! (Btw I saw you got a nice guitar as well, congratulations!)

Be careful ! Before you buy a D-Tuna, you might want to look hard at this thread & my link within it:

Oh man, I see some people with tributes have no problems, but some do? Did you fix your problem or did it continue and you just returned it? I would really like to change between Eb and C#, 2 guitars in 1 kind of thing. I wonder if I should try it and if it doesn't work than return it?

It scared the heck out of me. It fell way too close( nearly touching) to the body. It definitely would have scratched the beautiful quilt top. Also, when I dropped to "D" on it, it was always slightly out of tune. Flat, I think. I returned it & never looked back. I keep another guitar "drop D" tuned. Good luck, be careful.

Yeah like you I definitely don't want it near the top at all, I don't want this getting scratched, and yeah if it doesn't keep tune than I guess there isn't a reason to have it then haha. I have another guitar I can keep in c# but it doesn't sound nearly as nice as the Axis haha. Thanks man!

Sweet guitar man.

The email response I got from the D-Tuna guys basically said "it will work on any guitar so you must be doing something wrong". Oh well.

Don't just take my word for it. Many here have had success with the D-Tuna on their Tributes. Buy it from Amazon, try it. If you don't like it, return it.

Ok, thanks for the advice again. Atleast I know I can return it if I can't figure it out, worth a try!

@Tonelover, thanks, that seems assuring that the D-tuna guys are positive that it will work.
