After a 4 month wait, last tuesday my Y2D PDN finally arrived. And boy, was it worth the wait! These special runs really take Music Man quality and looks to another level. I had a standard morse before and liked it, but I quickly sold it as soon as I had ordered this Y2D. Although less versatile, this PDN Y2D is much more to my liking than the standard Morse. It has a bite to it that my roasted AL also has, so I contribute that to the roasted neck. The Y2D is a bit warmer sounding, love it. And it is simply beautiful! I shot some pics in indoor lighting, couldn't wait for the sun to come out again ( could be days). In the pics she looks a tad more bright and red than in real life, but you get the idea:

And there is a little surprise between the pickups: the face of Eddie, the Iron Maiden mascotte! ;)

congratulations. I like the Black Pups with the burst. That´s the way it should be on the Purple Sunset Y2Ds too (imho)

Thanks guys, really love the guitar. I just had to get in on this PDN run. Made the right choice with the Y2D. I was also thinking about a JP6, but I like the neck profile of the Y2D so much more. And the pickup combinations and switching give very useful sounds!

That looks awesome! Can you guys discuss the tone of these with the wood combination of Mahogany and Maple neck? I have been reading all kinds of stuff and some builders dont like that combination because it does not resonate very well together or what not. Just curious to hear your thoughts. I had a different guitar in that combination, and I thought it sounded pretty awesome. Very defined and articulate. It was fat sounding and tight.

Mahogany body and maple neck has become my favourite combo! That's why I like my roasted AL just a bit more than my rosewood neck AL HH. Ads a bit of bite to the tone.

As for the Y2D: it sounds awesome, it may be the ultimate rock guitar! ;)
