I am not sure about it being a '97. I am pretty sure the serial numbers were on the neck plate by then. Gav?

Upon reading the item desciption it appears to have a few issues..........

Not to mention, the price. Aussies can land a used Stingray from the US for less than that, including shipping and taxes.

Price wise after GST and postage if that doesnt go higher then that is what seems to be the price of gettting a used stingray from the states.

I just bought one from BIG BALLZ on this forum. The prices here in OZ are very high for new stingrays so its no wonder aussies like myself are looking abroad.

Last minute bids will determine what this really goes for. There doenst seem to be a big used market for EB basses here (OZ). Maybe thats an indication they are worth holding onto because they are a fantastic bass and where is the alternative?

Now the 2 pickup models thats going to be the new bass on the block i imagine.

That's identical to my StingRay - I paid $2200 new. Translucent Teal is damn hard to photograph - his looks darker than mine appears in the flesh.

Relisted at US$994 starting bid, which is getting closer to the ballpark for a used Stingray. My black Stingray from ebay in the US cost me US$650 + $100 shipping + $75 tax.
