This morning I stumbled upon this video. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MSyFA84u48"]YouTube - Smoke on the water - Deep Purple (LIVE)[/ame]. I suspect it is a later reincarnation of Deep Purple but I don't recognize the guitarist. Does anyone know who he is?

Ummm, that is one of the best Medleys I've heard, and its perfect when he goes into Smoke on the Water. This is one of my favourite Live performances on DVD of Steve. This is Total Abandon from Australia in 99. He's got an UNBELIEVABLE 10 mintue solo on this DVD as well.

Hi EBMM Guy, Steve Morse is an amazing player, and as you now know an EBMM endorsee. I don't know heaps about him, but he started out in a band called Dixie Dregs, and has also done loads of solo work. He is also Deep Purples full time guitarist. What I like about him is his right technique, his picking is so fast and clean, and incredibly musical to my ears.
Here are afew tasty vids

Classic.... And your name is EBMM guy...:)

When I was learning Deep Purple tunes they were recorded on vinyl and Ritchie Blackmore was the guitarist. I lost track of the band ages ago. Obviously. One advantage to age is that you rediscover things all the time. That is a good thing.
