Cleveland! Rock & Roll!lol I just watched it the other night and laughed my a$$ off, hands down one of the funniest movies of all time. I don't know how many times I have actually watched the movie but it is amazing the reactions you get depending on who you watch it with. Those that know the Rock lifestyle will usually be in tears laughing, some think it is actually a real documentary, and then you get the brain dead lol. What is truly amazing is that they wrote and played all those songs that fit the time periods perfect and mostly all the dialogue isl ad libbed.Sterling made the infamous Mr Horsepower guitar for Christopher Guest who played Nigel (which was based off of Jeff Beck).
I played a few shows with David Caffenetti (Viv Savage) years back, great to hear the inside scoop on the making of the film. Amazing what they did with so little money.
nathanhny- Thats it! I was wracking my brain trying to think of the other insane guitar Sterling and Dudley built for him- The Global Warming axe lol. There are pictures of it posted here from a few years back that I will now go find. I would love to own both but a Mr Horsepower is about 10K and I dont think they made more then a handful of the Global Warming Guitar which may even be a one off.
Would be great to own a Mr.Horsepower!! And I think the Global Warming one was a one off (not 100% sure). Steve Morse did a great clinic in london in 2008. There were alot of Musicman instruments on display including the global warming guitar. It was on display inside a glass case though haha.
I believe there were 2 Global Warmings, 1 is Dave B's in England and the other is Nigels. Dave's got the Mr. Horsepower as well, I remember when he got that at the Open House, he let me noodle around for a few minutes, very cool. Dave B is a straight up nice guy.
The movie was hilarious (and seminal). Way back I bought the "how black can you get?..none, none more black" album. It's the only one in my collection by a fictional band from a movie
