After gigging with my Axis SS last night, I am totally in love. That means my Silhouette will go and be replaced by another Axis SS. My question is, are the older non-maple top SS's basswood or alder? Basswood is usually NOT given a transparent finish as it looks bad. I want a basswood body.

Hint: Anyone looking for a Silhouette or an Axis SS 90 to trade, let me know.

Axis SS without maple tops are Axis Sports.
They were made of ash and are discontinued. They usually go for less that the equivalent Axis SS.
Basswood is used on the Axis and Axis SS with humbuckers. Axis SS with P90's are ash and maple.

You are right Robalinda2. So if anyone sees an MM90 let me know. Specifically, maple neck with matching headstock, fixed bridge any color but orange (can't have two of the same color!). Doesn't have to be perfect, but should be at least EC condition.
