I was lucky to add this one and while I'm not a big fan of flame top'd guitars, this one is perfection in my opinion. It's one of 10 killer EVH's I've added recently, and probably my favorite of the new group.

awesome guitar! :)

MrM

ps: i think EVH guitars is his therapy ;)

You're right. I was promoted to VP at my company recently and with it came significantly more responsibility. Considering the economy, I have a lot on my plate if I'm going to succeed. Nothing (except bass fishing) calms my nerves more than spending an evening in my guitar room tinkering with these awesome instruments.

When BP released the EVH model in 1991, I was a broke college student and I still saved up $500 to plunk down as a deposit on an amber. Unfortunately I could never come up with the rest and I never completed the deal. The guitar I ordered came in, I got to jam on it for a day, and it sold to someone else the following day. I'm probably over-compensating for that "tramatic" experience now because no one needs over 50 of anything honestly.

Here are a few more new ones...

Oh I see.
Here comes my story: Went to a small guitar store in munich 1983 and there was this beautiful 1960 Les Paul sunburst for 2400.- Deutschmarks (1200 Euros) and I told the owner, I come back tomorrow and I´ll buy it - 100% sure.
Went to my parents, grandma and everything ( the whole "I will never ask for another birthday present in my whole life" thing )and had the money next day.
And...he sold it, well I was fourteen then.
But at least I told him he is the biggest mofo on earth and everything a 14year old knows ( I was save because he only had one leg - maybe another mad customer:rolleyes:)

For compensation I now have my own guitar shop and try to treat everyone like a king.

Mick

PS: I meant the other red one

Brett,

That collection of yours is superb. What are your minimun standards for adding an EVH to your collection? Do you give more condition leeway to the rarer color/finishes? I know if I see a Pet that one of the 1st 100 signed by Mr. Petrucci or a discontinued sparkle, I'll take it into the collection, even if it's not mint/near mint.

Thanks, and exactly! I like NOS / mint stuff the most, but for a rarer colors that I don't have 3+ of or more, I'll be willing to add it no matter what condition its in, as long as the price is commensurate with the condition.

This green is a perfect example. It's got some playwear but it's green, and they don't come around every day so thanks to my friend Richard, I own it now.
