When I picked up my ASS 6 years ago, you could always find something that was of reasonable price. Now everything seems to be a Buy It Now for $1300+. What gives??

EBMM guitars seem to go cheap on the UK Ebay. I saw a lovely Axis go for £550 last month.

Depends what it is, what its condition is and how badly the seller wants it gone. Check the sold prices. I see bargains at used guitar stores on occation.

I have to agree with this, when I got my first JP6 in 05, I got an absolute steal on it, but now its all buy it now for a bit more realistic prices but still, more expensive.

It is inflation, it's also that EBMM has gained alot of notoriety so more and more people want them.

Demand.

If you are patient, the good deals are still out there. I agree with Jamie.....winter time seems to be when the better deals in used guitars are available. Also, peoples collection of Balls are out of control (you know who you are), so when good deals pop up on a used Ball I think some of the freaks around here gobble it up real fast.

As I am an ebay whore Jamie is dead on target, as I have made a mental note of the last 3 holiday season listings and the best deals and hottest guitars all pop up for some reason around Christmas time. The problem is that everyone is usually wiped out -myself included and had to watch some really wicked and seldom seen axes go for serious bargains. I actually made a mental note this year to have some spare guitar funds on hand. The reason you see more Buy It Now listings is the same reason that Reflex sold so cheap- everyone is hurting. If you notice there were 16 bids on it but the scratch is not their, but that is why no reserve auctions are the ones get in on and also getting harder to come by.

well...

when I get to feeling like that, I just order up something from the factory. Then I have about 3 months of salivating.

works every time.
