So I mentioned this in couple of the pedal threads, but wanted to share this with everyone as a new thread anyway. I took delivery of the Strymon Blue Sky reverb pedal this past weekend as a present for my birthday from the collaboration between my girlfriend, my bro and one of my best friends.

If anyone is looking for a reverb pedal that has TONS of tweaking options and sounds absolutely phenomenal, you have to check out the Blue Sky. I play all kinds of music and this may not necessarily be applied to when I am playing metal or something like that, but it's absolutely amazing for ambient type stuff and great for really juicy liquid dreamy leads.

The shimmer to me is worth the price tag alone! You can get lost for hours just playing these ethereal chords and swells...especially with some delay :). Actually one of the other really really awesome things about this pedal is that you can save 1 favorite preset and have two completely different reverbs right there.

Every aspect of this pedal is absolutely amazing from the fit and finish to of course the amazing TONE!

Now I've been really impressed with Strymon products overall, and may have to get either the El Capistan Tape Echo delay or the crazy TimeLine.

Now to relate it a bit to EBMM stuff, other than that I was playing my amazing SM Y2D through this, Steve Lukather actually used a whole bunch of Strymon pedals on the All's Well That Ends Well album!!! I dont ever recall seeing this or hearing about it until I was exploring the Strymon web page.

Here is a link to their page with PICTURES OF STEVE LUKATHER IN THE STUDIO with Strymon pedals including the BlueSky. Awesome!!!

Congrats! Strymon makes some great pedals. If you're one of those ambient or U2 guys, then you'll probably want the Timeline next. Otherwise, the El Capistan is pretty awesome. Lots of stuff under the hood.

Strymon fused with and then absorbed Damage Control, who also made excellent pedals (I have one). I've only read outrageously good things about their pedals.

Well here is my pedal board so far. It's taking some time to put together, but these are so far definitely my essential pedals :). I got a relatively small board, because I only want pedals that are the most practical in as many applications as possible. The Blue Sky is taking up the most space which I honestly did not expect to have for some time. The next ones going on there are the TC Polytune and the Flashback. I may possibly get the Polytune Mini to save some space for the Wampler Comp and EP Booster :D.

Sorry for the crappy cell pic! I'm waiting on the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+ so I can hook up everything. I'm using all DiMarzio patch cables, except for one random Monster or Mogami...forget what that one is.

Right now I'm using a Blackstar ht20 head into a 1x12 mesa cab. I'm not gigging at the moment but I play a lot mostly in the studio where they have different kinds of amps. Eventually I would like to get a Mesa or ENGL when I start playing out.

I just got the Polytune Mini and prefer it's big brother. The Mini lacks the strobe mode which is what I use for fine tuning.

Yea I was thinking about it and ordered the regular size polytune...got a great deal on one for $60.00 :). Next is the flashback and then either EP booster, wampler pinnacle or the wampler compressor.

That is a great deal! The Mini is a really cool little tuner. Softer click than it's sibling, tiny case, etc... I just wish it has the strobe tuner function. There's no usb so no chance for an update either.

Yea to be honest I like the idea theoretically, but I feel the tiny display would be harder to make out. And the missing option to update it would bother me.

The smaller display is surprisingly visible. I was concerned about that too but it's no an issue.
