I got a stingray 4 sl no 38442 .... there was slight problem with sound of the open A string but couldnt find out the problem until i was changing the strings today ..... its developed a crack right under where the string rests :( ... what are the options for a replacement nuts that i can go for .... i am from india and havent got any EBMM dealers here so have to get it done by a local luthier ... but what material do i use ? ......

Is it a compensated nut, or just a standard nut? If it's a normal nut, you should be able to get one made by any guitar tech/luthier. Based on your serial number I would say that it has an uncompensated nut. if for some reason it is compensated, then i'd say EBMM customer service is your best bet.

I would just take it to a luthier. Even if you get EBMM to send you a new nut, they are glued in, and will need to be installed by a professional.
