I was browsing through some of the NAMM photo galleries that many a folk have posted and found this. A StingRay with a compensated nut? If that's true, when did that happen? Just curious. :)

This particular image comes from one of hmagman's galleries, a user from the DudePit.

All of our guitars and basses will have compensated nuts in the very near future.

Jon will it be possible to mail you an SR5 and have you replace the nut with the comp nut or do you know at this point?

So what are the odds that my non existent but on order Fretless Buttercream Bongo will have such a nut?

Andrew

My fretless Bongo does NOT have a compensated nut. My guess is that yours won't, either.

And, honestly, there isn't really any need for a compensated nut on a fretless.

Heh heh.........nut. :D

Yes...The Bongos already come with the compensated nut, but the fretless models do not and will not have the compensated nut. They don't work on fretlless basses.

We won't have the comensated nuts for models other than the Bongos until at least June, and we will let everybody know when we get them.

We will also retro fit instruments with the new nut, at the owners expense. I do not know what it will cost, but shipping both ways will be paid by the customer. I don't think it will be cheap. The compensated nut is much wider than the stock nut, so the slot that the nut is in will need to be widened, so tooling needs to be made etc. We will keep you guys posted.

Jon
