Last year I did a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Like last year, I have been remiss in keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun lead-up to New Years, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Day!
This year I was much more well behaved than last year, so not as many guitars as 2012, although in November I went a little crazy.
Here's the first one: An Axis in True Gold! I picked it up used from Lee (@Big Jazzer) right here on the Forum, flown in direct from the UK by the pilot himself!
I first got turned onto True Gold with rosewood after the color was already discontinued and Big Poppa did a special run of Luke's in True Gold with all-Rosewood necks for the first PDN exclusive guitar. Seeing that combination of True Gold and rosewood, I fell in love and the search for an Axis True Gold / Rosewood was on. It took a while but ultimately Lee was selling and the guitar made its way from the UK to NYC and became part of my arsenal. This guitar has seen some studio time as it sounds great and has a great feeling neck! I just love the color -- even better than the "Vintage Gold" Goldtop Axis Tribute.
