Happy Holidays and Happy New Year, everyone!
As I explained yesterday, last year I did a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Like last year, I have been remiss in keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun lead-up to New Years, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Day!
OK, here's the second NYNGD guitar: A 1995 Silhouette!
This Sunburst Silhouette is nicknamed "Smokey" -- I purchased it used and it arrived in an Anvil flight case and the whole works smelled like an ashtray. Even after a thorough cleaning, the guitar STILL smells like an ashtray!
With its covered humbuckers, this guitar has a classy feel, although the cracked pickguard will need to be replaced along with some scratchy pots. Having said all that, the setup on this guitar is outstanding with super-low action.
This would be one of my studio workhorses if not for the fact that I can't stand that when I play it my hands smell like I've gone back to smoking. It's been about 14 months since my last cigarette and I NEVER want my hands to stink like that again! Thankfully, I never smoked in my house so this is the ONLY guitar I own that smells like crap.
I'll be back later tonight with todays second installment in a doubleheader NYNGD: New Year's New Guitar Day!
Thanks for looking everyone!
