Happy Holidays and Happy New Year, everyone! Welcome to Day 1 of my annual New Year's New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!

For the past couple of years I've done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve!

Before we begin: In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars. :) The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!

This year I was my usual GAS-prone self and again bought too many guitars. Some new, some used, all EBMM (OK, except a couple of other goodies that I will launch in my Guitar Gallery before New Years).

The first one is a guitar that most of you probably saw being sold by mystixboi1 in the For Sale thread -- a really sweet Albert Lee HH in a custom Purple Sparkle finish with all-rosewood neck.

I bought this from John in a combo deal along with another cool EBMM that we'll see in the next couple weeks. This is the first AL I have ever played and I just love it. So different from my other EBMM's and yet it feels just like home! And man, does this finish rock. I hope EBMM does a PDN run with this finish!

(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas -- these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house...)

Very nice - and I also vote for a purple sparkle PDN run!

Kevin

PS - your placeholders at the bottom make this look like an epic year. :)

So glad that one found a good/great home... I looked at it many times but wasn't able to pull the trigger.
Enjoy your AL!

Great collection. I would have difficulties knowing which one to pick up and play!

Just out of curiosity, are they all stored in the one place?

Soooooo hot! So glad that you like it. I had no idea that you were the one I sold it to(meaning - the guy that has the amazing collection). I've been tempted to buy another one and have marty bell do the same finish. He did such a great job with it.

Anyway, enjoy!!!

Hey Jeff.
I was wondering when you were going to join the ALOc. The decoder ring and secret handshake instructions will be winging their way to you.;)

Welcome on board!

Can't wait for this story to unfurl!!

That AL is killer! Congrats.

Question - your photo's are fantastic - what are you using to get such clear and beautiful pictures

 16 more?!! This is the best Christmas ever!! :D
wait... 17 new guitars in 2015? Didn´t I read "my guitar acquiring belt is going to be tightened for a while.... :-("

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Yep, I told you I had massive GAS this year!!! @banjoplayer that was several years ago.

Just out of curiosity, are they all stored in the one place?

They are all in my studio building. Some are hanging, others are in storage. And at any given time a couple are at my house.

Yep, it's me! She has a good home with lots of friends to play with!

Glad to finally join! Only took me about 85 EBMM's to get to an AL!

wow, what a great guitar! Is the finish done by EBMM or aftermarket?

The aftermarket finish was done by Marty Bell, as commissioned by @mystixboi1

My "photo equipment" consists of a kind of messed up Nikon Coolpix S8000 point and click with dodgy buttons. And years ago (for photographing guitars) I bought a photographer's lighting set for maybe $150 (you know, with those umbrellas and stuff) and a black tablecloth that I heisted -- er, accidentally took home -- from a restaurant 20 years ago when I was a DJ. And then a lot of patience trying to avoid reflections, get the right colors, etc. And then a lot of work in Photoshop to cut and crop and resize.
